SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — When you fly in or out of Shreveport Regional Airport, you might notice some major runway improvements.
The seven month, approximately 5 million dollar re-pavement project was funded by the Federal Aviation Administration and Louisiana Department of Transportation Aviation Division.
Airport officials held a special ribbon cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate the re-opening of the newly paved runway.
The runway is 6,202 feet long, compared to the airport’s primary runway, which is 8,351 feet long. The runway can accommodate most plane types from general aviation aircraft to larger, narrow body aircraft.
