The Bossier Parish Community will soon have a new sewer treatment facility. The facility will service mostly rural residents throughout the parish.

The project come after the parishes’ rapid growth and is expected to cost around $45-million.

Parish Engineer Butch Ford says the plan has been in the works for 10 years.

“You know how many calls a week I get from land owners that are looking forward to it happening and they want to develop as soon as we get our system in place. It’s going to spur some growth in this area I believe but one of the main things we are doing is we are cleaning up the environment," said Ford.

Officials plan to break ground on the facility in November.
