Taxi service drivers will soon become a little more informative about what’s going on around the City of Shreveport.

A new law put in place by the Shreveport City Council now requires taxi service drivers to take classes in tourism and customer service.

The law requires drivers such as limo and taxi drivers to go through classes to become more familiar with attractions around the city, was approved by the city council.

Officials say the law will help increase tourism and will also increase attendance to certain events around town.

The law is expected to go into effect in the upcoming months.
