Murder warrant issued in Shreveport shooting
Shreveport, La (KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department arrested a man who is accused of shooting a victim multiple times earlier this week.
Around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a reported shooting outside of a store in the 300 block of Pierre Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities found Eddie George, 59, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. George was taken to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives were notified and based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Ladarius Williams, 22, was connected to the crime. Investigators believe Williams shot George in an alleged robbery attempt as George was walking out of the store on Pierre Avenue.
During the robbery, Williams reportedly pulled a handgun and fired several shots at George before running from the area. The warrant for Williams's arrest charges him with a single count of attempted first degree murder. Bond has been set at $200,000.
