GROSSE TETE, LA. (NBC33) — Missing Florida teen, Ashley Lyon, was found in Iberville Parish Thursday morning, after disappearing earlier in the week.
According to authorities, Ashley, 16, and Steven Patrick Myers, 41, were located at a local truck stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana. after patrons recognized the two in a Chevy 3500 flatbed pickup truck.
As of 5:00 a.m. Thursday, the investigation continues, but NBC33 is told authorities attempted a traffic stop and Myers refused to pull over. The encounter turned into a police pursuit that traveled for over 40 miles.
During the chase, Myers reportedly struck four other vehicles (unknown if law enforcement or citizens vehicles) in some type of attempt to create road blockage behind him. Deputies managed to deploy multiple stop sticks and were successful in deflating the truck's tires.
Myers continued driving the truck down to the rims until the truck was finally disabled and could no longer travel any further.
Once the truck stopped, Myers exited the truck with a knife in hand yelling at the deputies to shoot him. Steven Myers was then apprehended and taken to a local hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana where he was treated for what's believed to be two self inflicted stab wounds and K9 dog bites.
There is no update on his current condition or if he's been released and taken to jail.
Ashley Lyon was found in the disabled truck with multiple stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital in Lafayette where she is listed in critical condition.
The family of Ashley will provide a statement sometime Thursday.
