Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport/Bossier Mavericks Head Coach Steve Tucker was named ABA All-Star Game Coach for the 6th time today.
Tucker, who has won 2 ABA National Championships, 5 Division Titles, has won 3 National Coach of the Year Awards, was the ABA Coach of the Decade (2000-2010), and who has won more games (165-26 ABA coaching record) than any coach since the ABA returned in 2000. No coach has ever been selected more times to coach in the ABA All-Star Game than Tucker.
"It is a great honor! With all that has gone on this season with my health, this just is special to be selected again to coach in the ABA All-Star Game! I must thank my coaching staff and players for allowing me the opportunity to be honored in this way!" Stated Tucker.
Coach Tucker has led the Mavericks to their best start ever this season. The Mavericks are 23-0 on the season thus far and are again this week ranked #1 in the ABA National Power Ranking.
Ed Horton (18.8 ppg), PJ Couisnard (15.6 ppg - 8.1 rpg), and Trey Moore (16.4 ppg) have all been nominated to play in the ABA All-Star Game that will be played in Kansas City, Missouri in April after the ABA National Championship Finals, which will be held in Shreveport/Bossier, LA at the Hirsch Coliseum, April 10-15.
