Caddo Parrish, La (KMSS) — Authorities extradited a Georgia man Friday to Caddo Parrish for allegedly stealing money from a local business and fleeing the state.

William Franklin Hill, 49, of Atlanta, GA, was caught and set back to Louisiana on a felony theft warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff’s officials. Hill was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center after being picked up by the Caddo Sheriff’s Office Warrant’s Division in Las Vegas.

The suspect is accused of using a check fraud scheme to purchase $37,490 in gold from Louisiana Gold and Jewelry. He then sold the gold for cash and gambled with the money at local casinos.

His bail is set at $100,000.
