Shreveport police are on the hunt for a robber who held up a local restaurant earlier this week.

Shortly after 10 a.m., on Sunday, officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Pizza Hut located in the 1600 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

According to witnesses, a man wearing dark pants, a long sleeved, dark colored shirt and a mask made from black nylon material covering his face, entered the business through an unlocked back door. He then gestured with his hand beneath his clothing as if he was holding a weapon and demanded money from the cash register and safe.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the thief forced employees into the walk-in cooler and ran from the store. The victims were not able to provide a good descriptions of the robber, who is still on the loose.

Authorities are optimistic that surveillance video of the robbery will help to identify and apprehend the suspect as soon as it has been processed. Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
