Man killed in early morning Shreveport crash

A man was killed this morning in a one vehicle crash in east Shreveport.

At around 7:32 a.m. on July 24, 2014,  were called to a major crash on Interstate 49 just north of the Pierremont/Hollywood exit ramp. When police arrived, they found vehicle near the retaining wall just off the roadway, where they saw the driver lying near the guard rail. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crash investigators immediately responded and began recovering evidence, taking measurements, and interviewing potential witnesses. Based on information gathered, police believe the vehicle was headed south on Interstate 49 when it left the road. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the incident.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time, pending notification of kin.
