Man accused of Shreveport stabbing turns self in

A local man was arrested by Shreveport police for a stabbing that happened back on September 20.

On Tuesday, at 8:53 p.m., Melvin Washington, 38, turned himself in at the Shreveport City Jail on an outstanding warrant.

The warrant for Washington was obtained on September 20 for Washington after he allegedly slashed Lonzo Woodson, 54, of Shreveport, multiple times in his upper torso.

Washington was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with one count of attempted second degree murder. His bond is set at $500,000.
