Major drug bust yields 24,000 grams of pot, cars, cash and guns

Five people have been arrested in connection with a major drug bust that yielded over 24,000 grams of synthetic marijuana.

According to Caddo Parish officials, the investigation began back in April 2012 when allegations of drug distribution at area businesses was raised.

Over the past week, agents served search warrants at Pipe’s Emporium, located in the 1300 block of Centenary Boulevard, Corner Tobacco Store, in the 2100 block of North Market Street, Sam’s Discount Tobacco and Beer Outlet, in the 3100 block of North Market Street, as well as at residences, storage buildings, safety deposit boxes and bank accounts connected to the investigation. In addition to the synthetic marijuana, officials seized $577,000 in cash, three vehicles, three weapons and placed liens on $525,000 worth of real property.

Authorities took into custody Thais Willis, 55, of Shreveport, Mohammed Zeidan, 26, of Shreveport, Samer Zeidan, 29, of Bossier City, Sherrie Ashley, 43, Shreveport, and Corey Fout, 18, of Davisville, West Virginia. They are all charged with possession of a schedule I narcotic with intent to distribute.
