A Shreveport police officer was placed on administrative leave today for allegedly violating department rules and regulations. Corporal Aisha Barnes will remain on paid leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Tankers caught fire at natural gas well site

Huge plumes of smoke poured out of a west Shreveport natural gas well site Friday afternoon.  It took Caddo and Shreveport fire crews hours to put out the flames at the Chesapeake Energy site.

Crews were able to put out the fire at around 2:45 p.m. Friday. A KMSS reporter says 8 vehicles that caught fire were pump trucks used to pump water at the well.

Haughton woman arrested after posing as insurance company to get drugs

A Haughton woman has been arrested on three counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by misrepresentation and three counts of insurance fraud.

Captain Shreve baseball coach suspended after incident
