The Bossier City Marshals' Office Launched The Website Www.Marshalsforkids.Com To Warn Kids And Their Parents About The Dangers Of Online Predators. Members Of The Taskforce Say Around 75 Percent Of Residents Live Within A Mile Of A Registered Sex Offender. With Such High Statistics The City Marshal's Office Didn't Think There Was A Better Time To Reach Out.

When We Met Last Month And Made A Few Arrests, The Task Force Came In And Said What Scares Me To Death This Summer Is What We Are Going To Face. Lets Change Things. Lets Go Proactive And Not Just Reactive.
Jessica Miller, Taskforce
Unfortunately Those Crimes Are Rising In Our Area. It Is Estimated That One Out Of Five Children Will Be Targeted By A Predator Online. So Anything That We Can Do To Collaborate, Whether It Be A Presentation At A School Or Helping To Develop The Material.
One Of The Most Interesting Things About The Site, Is That Children Will Be Able To Reach Out To The Task Force For Help Without Their Parents Knowing.

The One Thing That We Try To Do Is Make Sure The Young Person That Is Seeing This And Goes To This Website Knows One Thing. If You See Somebody With A Badge Its Your Friend Not Your Enemy. Bring Us Your Story And Let Us Help You.
The Website Will Not Only Be Used For Residents To Report Illegal Activity And Learn Where The Sex Offenders Live In The Area. The Site Also Provides A Safe Environment For Kids To Play Games And Watch Videos. The Bossier Parish School System Will Be Sending Out Handouts To All Their Students Before School Lets Out To Tell Them About The New Site.

I Think This Is Going To Grow By Leaps And Bounds. I Think The 90 Days Is Just Tip Of The Ice Berg And I Hope That Other Areas Whether It Be Caddo Parish, Webster Parish And All Throughout The State Will Pick Up The Same Message And Run With It.
