In Response To A Series Of Burglaries At Colortyme In The 700 Block Of Shreveport-Barksdale, Shreveport Police Corporal Jerry Alkire Worked Undercover Surveillance Sunday Morning. At 3:50 A.M. 24-Year-Old Suspect Tremendous Davis Broke Into The Business And Stole A Tv. It Was When Alkire Went To Arrest Davis That The Situation Turned Dangerous.

The Suspect Got In His Vehicle And Took Off. At That Time The Officer Was Struck In The Leg And Was Injured. He Deployed His Service Weapon And Fired Several Rounds Striking The Suspect.
Davis Received Several Shots To The Chest And One To The Head. He Was Taken To Lsu Hospital Following The Shooting And Died Sunday Evening.
Meanwhile The Officer Was Transported To Willis Knighton North. He Was Treated And Released For Injuries To His Leg. He Is Currently On Paid Administrative Lead Pending An Investigation Which Is Standard Procedure.
Officers Say Like Any Criminal Investigation, Supervisors Have To Make Sure Officer Alkire Used The Proper Standards And Procedure When Using His Weapon. At This Point Officers Say It Is Unknown When Or If The Over 10-Year Vet Will Return To The Department. Christina Erwin Fox News Shreveport.
