SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — Fire prevention is an important topic especially for kids. Today kids in Bossier City along with their parents received some life saving tips from the Bossier Fire Department.
Animal crackers were passed around and even a sing along to prepare kids that are home schooled for an important life lesson.
How to be prepared in case of a fire, dialing nine-one-one in case of an emergency and how to assist parents in checking smoke alarms were all at the top of the list.
“It’s critical, children see things at a young age and you have to have an impact on them early,” said Michael Harris, who works as a prevention officer for the Bossier Fire Department.
The event today was geared towards home schooled kids due to them not having access to programs like this by being in public school.
“We plan to do more programs like this in the future,” said Harris.
