Shreveport — Peace officers from several different agencies will be teaming up and working together this weekend to help keep the streets of Shreveport safe.
A safety checkpoint will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 in east Shreveport as an integral component of an ongoing, singular commitment on the part of authorities to reduce the number of deaths and injuries reported on our roadways. The checkpoint will be a collaborative effort between the Louisiana State Police, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and the Shreveport Police Department. Authorities will be checking for impaired drivers as well as any other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of motorists.
Police officers write tickets to save lives and public safety is always our foremost concern so please join us in our efforts to prevent traffic injuries and fatalities. Always remember to buckle up and utilize a designated driver if you are going to be drinking.
