Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — The stingray exhibit at Shreveport's Sci-Port will be packing up and moving out Sunday, July 14.
The aquatic animals took over Sci-Port's parking lot at the end of April and were scheduled to leave at the end of June, but were such a hit that they decided to stay a bit longer. While most stingrays aren't kid friendly, the stingrays at Sci-Port have had their stingers removed and are completely safe.
Programs and demonstrations which complement the exhibit experience include:
• Saturday & Sunday, 1 & 5 p.m.: Blowin' in the Wind: Help demonstrate the effects of high winds created by a hurricane, and make a handy weather wheel to predict hurricane damage!
• Saturday & Sunday, 3 p.m.: Close Encounters with Ocean Objects: Use our Scope on a Rope to view various ocean objects at 200X magnification!
Programs are free with Center admission. Learn more at www.sciport.org/events.
