Bossier Parish officials say they are planning to consolidate over 30 sewage ponds and private sewage plants between Red Chute Bayou and Highway 157 in the community of Haughton.

This comes after 15-million dollars was received from the state capital out lay fund.

Parish officials also say they received a 5.2 million dollar grant to help acquire the rights-of-way along Swan Lake Road to continue expansion in 2015.

“We are going to be able to provide community service, public community sewage service to all those lands out there. All those existing customers and it’s cleaning up the environment, its going to have an impact to all the property owners in those areas," said Parish Engineer Butch Ford.

Construction for the sewer plant is slated for the end of this year.
