SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — Budget cuts from the State's Capital will soon eliminate a valuable program used by the elderly.
Officials from the Caddo Council on Aging were made aware that the Aging and Disability Resource Center would be shut down due to budget cuts out of Baton Rouge.
"We are asking everyone to call us, we will tell you the legislators that are on the budget committee, we need to get the word to them that they need to restore some of this funding," said Mary Alice Rountree with the Caddo Council on Aging.
The center is designed to help seniors understand prescription assistant programs including Medicare part D among many other things.
