I Love the Ark-La-Tex: Natchitoches Christmas

We've all heard how great Natchitoches Christmas is, but now the whole country knows too.

Their holiday lights celebration was just named by Yahoo Travel as the 3rd best in the country, behind Rockefeller Center and Disneyland. While first would be nice, the Natchitoches Christmas team is more than pleased with 3rd.  It might be 3rd overall, but Yahoo's ranking makes it number 1 in the south, and that's something I completely agree with.

It seems I'm not the only one. Every year, the fireworks companies fight each other, trying to outdo each other to be the fireworks provider for the city.

This year is also the kickoff of Natchitoches Tri-Centennial celebration, so it had be be better than ever. I don't know how anything could be better than what they have now, so I'd say the Christmas team succeeded.

The fireworks are jaw-dropping, the lights are amazing! I just want to be a part of it all. Although, I wouldn't want to have to pay the city's electric bill during December...yikes!

And that's just another reason I love the Ark-La-Tex!

I grew up in Natchitoches and I can't tell you what great memories I have of the Christmas festival, parades, music, good food and good friends. Love it.
