After years of planning, a new homeless center will soon open in Shreveport.

Hope for the Homeless and the Hope House in Shreveport will soon be joining over 10 agencies under one roof.

The organization is currently constructing a new state of the art shelter that will offer extended hours and is expected to serve over 200 homeless people per day.

“This project was initially funded through the community development block grant funds, the downtown development authority, choice neighborhoods; all those agencies are behind this project, they see the real value in it," said Executive Director Christa Pazzaglia.

The project is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2014.
