Thursday, June 9, from now until 9pm, McAlister's Deli on 70th Street in Shreveport will be raising money for Tiser Lusk. Until 5, people will need to let cashiers know they are there for Tiser's Chance, but after 5, all people need to do is have a good time and eat some delicious food.

KMSS first met Tiser in May, when his parents found a doctor who believed he could get rid of Tiser's kernicterus. Tiser was born with severe jaundice, which led to his kernicterus. Because of the kernicterus, Tiser is unable to talk, walk and even has trouble holding his head.

The fundraiser will go toward the $25,000 that the Lusk family has pledged to raise to Tiser's treatment. Dr. Steven Shapiro is working on a clinical trial in which he will pull cells from Tiser's bone marrow and inject them into his brain. Preliminary research has shown that this will treat and cure his condition.

No coupon or flyer is needed to participate in the fundraiser, but before 5 people will need to say they are there for Tiser's Chance. 10 percent of the profits during the event will go to Tiser's Chance, a tax exempt non-profit.
