Gunman holds up Shreveport gas station
Shreveport, LA — Police are searching for an armed gunman who robbed a convenience store on the southwest side of Shreveport Monday afternoon.
At 1:10 p.m., officer's were called to the Kangaroo Express Mobil gas station, located in the 3100 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, to reports of a robbery at the business. When police arrived, employees told officials a man had entered the store acting as though he was about to use the ATM. At that time, he allegedly made he went behind the counter and pulled a black semi-automatic handgun. The bandit then demanded the clerk open the register and hand over any cash.
Following the robbery, the unidentified man ran from the business with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses last saw the gunman heading toward an adjacent apartment complex. No injuries reported.
Investigators are currently looking at surveillance footage and are describing the thief as black man, who is about five feet six to five feet seven inches tall, weighing 125-130 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a whit t-shirt and black baseball cap.
