Cystic Fibrosis is an illness that over 30,000 children and adults suffer from in the United States alone, including Cade Liles of Athens, Louisiana (pictured). It attacks the lungs and digestive system, making daily life hard for those with the disease. Cystic fibrosis treatment has come a long way; in the 1950's most children died from the disease before elementary school, but there is still no cure for this debilitating disease. Even now, the predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is in the late 30s.
Great Strides is the CF Foundation’s largest fund-raising event. It provides opportunities for all people within a local community to get involved forming teams through their workplace, through clubs and organizations or with friends and family.
