GOHSEP: Dam's "imminent failure" leads to evacuation of 50,000 in Tangipahoa River area

The Mississippi Emergency Management has notified GOHSEP and Tangipahoa Parish Government of an "imminent failure" of the dam at Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quinn State Park. This failure is expected to cause additional flooding along the already swollen Tangipahoa River.

We're told all residents along this area are being forced to evacuate. This includes roughly 50,000 people.

NBC33 News will provide a live update on our broadcast. Governor Jindal will hold a press conference at 11:20 a.m.
