Gas station shooting most likely not random

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - 8:39am

Early Monday morning, around 2am, 26 year old Marcus Henderson was shot  at least once in the upper leg or buttocks while sitting in his vehicle at the Raceway gas station in the 3700 block of Hearne Avenue in Shreveport. Henderson was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered to be non life threatening.

After speaking to witnesses, Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit found that a male was seen walking up to Henderson's car before the shooting and was also seen running from the station after shots were fired.

While the investigation is still ongoing, police can say, that generally, in cases like this, the shooting is not random. With that in mind, it is likely that Henderson knew his shooter in some way, shape or form.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information about this crime to call Caddo-Shreveport Crimestoppers at 318 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at (318) 673-6955.
