Game warden kills man in self-defense

One person is killed after a game warden shot a man in self-defense Thursday afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m., the gunman was seen driving erratically off Cummings Lane in Texarkana when he crashed his car. Officers approached the driver, who shot once in their direction with a pistol. He then pointed his gun directly at Game Warden Shawn Hervey, who shot and killed him.

Authorities are still on scene collecting evidence. Investigators from Austin are also en route.
