Bossier City, La — Bossier City firefighters are swapping out their regular duty uniform shirts this week with special pink t-shirts in support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The firefighters bought the t-shirts themselves which feature the breast cancer awareness ribbon on the front and back and will don them today through Friday while on duty. A number of the t-shirts where also sold to family members and friends of Bossier City Fire Department personnel.
In all about 350 were purchased at $12 each with half of the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In support the fire department fundraising effort, members of the Bossier City Council will also wear the t-shirts during tomorrow’s regular meeting at 3p.m. in the city council chambers, 620 Benton Road.
