Authorities are working to apprehend a local man who allegedly robbed a west Shreveport dollar store last spring.

At approximately 9:42 p.m. on April 24, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at the Family Dollar in the 600 block of West 70th Street. Upon arrival there, patrolmen contacted a witness who told them a male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the bandit fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

Based on a fingerprint lifted from the crime scene, as well as other information gathered during the course of their inquiry, investigators were able to identify 22 year old Kenneth Webster as the gunman who robbed the business. This morning police obtained an arrest warrant charging Webster, of the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue in Shreveport, with one count of armed robbery with a firearm. His bond is set at $150,000. Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Kenneth Webster is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
