Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Tuesday morning, the David Raines Community Center in North Shreveport opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
For many in the community, the center's re-opening was long over due. In 2002, the center opened, but had to close down soon after because of shoddy construction.
The city filed a lawsuit, and was awarded $1.2 million. That meant that the center could be renovated and fixed, with no cost to tax payers.
The David Raines Community Center is open Monday- Friday from 8am-8pm, and Saturday from 9am-3pm. It is closed Sunday.
