Shreveport (KMSS) — A Shreveport man has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint Thursday night in the south part of the city.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call from a victim who stated he had just been robbed at gunpoint by a suspect in the 8800 block of Millicent Way. During the call, dispatchers learned the victim was reportedly robbed while buying a cellphone from the suspect whom he met on Craig's List.
Dispatchers also learned the victim, while being held at gunpoint, was able to get the gun away from the suspect and gain control of the weapon. The suspect then ran to his vehicle and sped off. The victim followed the man and was relaying information to authorities.
Authorities were able to catch the suspect on West 70th Street near Kennedy Drive. He he was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators reviewed the details and later arrested the suspect, Jakory Lang, 22. The suspect was charged with armed robbery and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Lang also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest through the Shreveport Police Department for an unrelated matter.
