Shreveport LA (KMSS) — Shreveport City Councilman Sam Jenkins is looking to fight against litter crime.
The Councilman is moving forward with plans to bring an environmental court to the city. The courts’ purpose would be to expedite and strengthen the city's enforcement on litter citations that are issued.
" I think this is going to be a great idea for the City of Shreveport because we hear so many different complaints from citizens who may live in this block or that block. They are doing the things they are suppose to do but they have people in and around them that are not."
Jenkins is currently working on exploratory plans to look at other cities that have had success with the special court.
