Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 7:43pm

Sentencing is still underway for Christopher Cope, after a jury found him guilty of murdering Shreveport Police Officer Tim Prunty in 2010.

The jury took only an hour to deliberate, finding Cope guilty of 1st degree murder Tuesday night.

Cope shot Prunty, while on duty, in front of a convenience store in south Shreveport.

The jury reconvened Wednesday at 9:30am to start the process in deciding if Cope will get life in prison or the death sentence.
