SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — A new community kitchen will soon be joining the Red River District in Shreveport thanks to local donors.
"Cohab has been successful over the last 3 years almost because of this community, because of the organizations and the people who are a part of that organization, who run those organization and just the citizens of Shreveport-Bossier in general,” says Jessica Schiele who works with CoHab.
Officials with the foundation recently announced over $20,000 have been raised for the community kitchen that is currently under construction in the district.
The organization says the kitchen will be open to small business owners who might not be able to afford to build commercial kitchens.
The kitchen should be up and operating by the end of this year.
