SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — More than 26 million Americans have kidney disease, but most don't realize it. One in three Americans are at risk for kidney disease due to high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of kidney disease. Undetected, kidney disease can lead to kidney failure and the need for dialysis or an organ transplant.
Officials at Mount Canaan Baptist Church in Shreveport are teaming up with the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana to offer free kidney screenings.
The screenings will take place Friday, June 28th at the Mount Canaan Baptist Church Family Life Center. The church is located at 1666 Alston Street in Shreveport.
Pre-registration and appointments are suggested for the free screening. For more information you can call (800)462-3694.
