At least two people have been taken to local hospitals following a two-vehicle accident involving a Shreveport school bus.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Portland Avenue and Murphy Street.

Bossier City police officials tell KMSS they were tailing a driver suspected of trafficking drugs, when they began to chase him in Shreveport.

During the pursuit, the truck driven by the suspected dealer crashed into a Providence House school bus that was carrying about two dozen children. The driver ran from the scene of the crash, but was caught a few blocks later hiding underneath a house. He was taken into police custody.

The Providence House is a domestic abuse shelter in Shreveport.

It is unclear if there are any serious injuries involved in the wreck.
