Car sales hit 5 year high in November

Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - 6:44pm

After a tough couple of years, car sales have a positive outlook. November sales of cars nationwide hit a 5 year high, increasing 15% from October. Locally, in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, those sales are predicted to be up 5% in December as well.

Across the country, small cars are the way to go; Ford had it's strongest small car sales for the month in 12 years. Hebert's Town and Country in Minden thinks part of the reason for that is the popularity of the 2013 Ford Focus.

But here in the Ark-La-Tex, trucks are king and the Ford F-150 is still Hebert's Town and Country number one seller- but not their only popular car.

One shopper came in to pick up a truck and left with the truck and a new Lincoln SUV.

With shoppers like that, Hebert's Town and Country thinks that December will be as successful a month as November and that will hopefully roll into a successful and bountiful 2013.
