Car crashes into log truck, driver in serious condition

Early this morning at 8:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G investigated a two vehicle crash on LA Highway 2 at LA Highway 157 that seriously injured a Serepta woman.

The investigation revealed that a car driven by Rebecca Wallace, 31, of Serepta, was traveling west on LA Highway 2 when she struck a fully loaded Mack log truck/trailer operated by James Stewart, 55, of Castor, from behind.

Wallace and Stewart were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Wallace received life threatning injuries from the crash. Stweart was not injured.

There were no passengers in the car.

A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash at this time remains under investigation.
