Camp Minden update: Doyline evacuations

Louisiana State Police along with the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office plan to start moving more than a million pounds of illegally stored explosives early Saturday morning.

They are requesting that all people living within the town limits of Doyline leave Friday afternoon and not come back until the weekend is over.

Several hotels are offering special rates for evacuees, including the TownePlace Suites Shreveport-Bossier City and the Jameson Inn..

For people that have no other options, the Caney Conference Center on Methodist Camp Road will have room for about 80 people.

The Webster Sheriff's Office is willing to help people with special needs or lack of transportation to evacuate. Call their office at 377-1515 for more information on evacuations.

The Jameson in is offering a rate of $49.99 for all Doyline evacuees. It is located at 6715 Rasberry Lane, Shreveport, 71129. Their phone number is 318.671.0731.
