With the smell of deer in the air, the Caddo Sheriff, Steve Prator, has decided to open their rifle range to the public for sight in rifles.
The facility opened to the public Tuesday, and still has three days left for public use.
Thursday, October 4, 7 a.m. until noon;
Saturday, October 6, 7 a.m. until noon;
Saturday, October 13, 7:30 – 11 a.m.
All shooters will work one-on-one with Louisiana State-certified instructors. The Sheriff's Department will provide targets, but shooters must bring their own rifles, ammunition and eye and eye protection. They ask that participants arrive with unloaded weapons.
Participants must call ahead and reserve a time to meet with instructors.
The Academy is located at 15639 Hwy. One South, directly in front of Lock and Dam #5. For additional information or to register, call the Academy at 681-0735.
