Caddo Parish, La (KMSS) — Caddo Parish authorities will be working together Thursday in a mock shooter driller at a local school.
Deputies, along with police officers, will learn to act as a cohesive unit during a school security exercise at the vacant Edie Jones West Elementary building.
Members from both departments’ patrol divisions, special response teams and hostage negotiations teams will be participating. The drill will begin around 8 a.m. and end at approximately 2 p.m..
Authorities will use role playing and simunition equipment to bring realism to the scenario. The departments are testing their coordinated response to enhance their tactical efforts and communication skills should they be called to respond together in a similar situation.
