BPCC records highest number of graduates in school history
Bossier Parish, LA (KMSS) — Once again, Bossier Parish Community College not only records the highest spring enrollment in its forty-six year history, the College is set to graduate its highest number of students during two graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 10 in the Health & Physical Education Complex at 6220 E. Texas St.
Credentials will be awarded to 373 graduates, making this spring’s graduation the largest on record. Spring 2012 awarded 360 graduates with credentials.
“At the beginning of each recent semester, we have announced record enrollment,” said Chancellor Jim Henderson. “Today, we are proud to announce record completions. Each of these graduates is now prepared for success in the workforce or at the next level of education. As a result, the future quality of life in our community looks brighter, and the competitive advantage our employers enjoy in the form of developed talent has never been stronger.”
Students will be awarded associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, and technical competency areas in BPCC’s six academic divisions. Students in the Division of Science, Nursing, and Allied Health and the Division of Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will graduate in the 9:30 am ceremony. The 2:00 pm ceremony will include those students in the divisions of Behavioral and Social Sciences; Business; Communication and Performing Arts and Liberal Arts.
Commencement speaker for the Science, Nursing, and Allied Health graduation ceremony is Dr. Phillip Rozeman. NSU Basketball Coach and former BPCC Basketball Coach Mike McConathy is the commencement speaker for the 2:00 pm ceremony.
