Yesterday the Caddo Parish School Board voted to continue the search for the system's next leader and a school board member says he is happy the process is moving forward.

The school system is currently in search for a superintendent after the board couldn’t make a selection for the position two weeks ago.

Board member Carl Pierson says while the process has been long; he is glad the board decided in unity to start the process and is glad the search is not going to cost much more in additional funds.

"Even for us to have done it in house, it wouldn't cost any more for Jacobson and McPherson to do it, they are contracted through the time we finally elect or select a superintendent,' said Pierson.

The School Board plans to hopefully select a new superintendent within 90 days.
