Bossier City, LA (KMSS) — Four new Bossier City Police Department reserve officers will be sworn into the ranks during a ceremony at 6p.m. tonight, September 9, 2013 at the Bossier City Public Safety Training Complex, 5850 Shed Road.
The new reserve police officers are Michael Beck, Tyler Christiana, Robert Gilbert and Steven Mucker.
Bossier City reserve police officers are members of the community who serve on a volunteer basis and have the same arresting authority as regular officers. They are trained and equipped to supplement and provide professional assistance to the regular police officers during emergencies and special events.
Reserve officers are also qualified to ride patrol, thus enabling the police department to put addition staffing on the streets at no cost since reserve officers volunteer their services.
