Shreveport — Shreveport Police are seeking a gunman following a shooting that sent a local man to the hospital Thursday night in west Shreveport.
Just before 10:30 p.m., Shreveport Police responded to University Health Medical Center relative to a 19 year old man who arrived in the emergency room suffering a single gunshot wound to the lower extremity. The man, identified as Ron Douglas, was said to have sustained non-life threatening injuries. Shreveport Police Violent Crimes investigators arrived on scene at the hospital and immediately launched an investigation.
Authorities were able to gather information leading them to the 1500 block of West 58th Street where evidence related to the crime was collected. Investigators were presented with information suggesting Douglas was shot as he stood outside a home in the 1500 block of West 58th Street. The suspects in the incident were described as male subjects of unknown race, driving a dark colored, four door sedan. No other injuries were reported. Police are now seeking to identify and apprehend those persons responsible for the shooting.
