Arrested firemen appear before the "court of public opinion"

Friday, August 9, 2013 - 8:56pm

On June 25, a fireman at Shreveport's station 8 filed a complaint about activity at the station. This then, more details have emerged almost daily regarding the arrests of 3 firemen on charges of cruelty and principle to prostitution, including one captain at the station.

Even with 3 arrests, Shreveport Police Department was warned that even more arrests are likely, and have brought in both the FBI and Louisiana State Police to help them with their investigation.

That doesn't mean Shreveport Police will be taking a backseat in the investigation. Friday after noon, an officer was spotted at the house directly across from Station 8.

The 3 arrestees are far from any possible traditional court date, but they are constantly being judged in the court of public opinion.

While many are shocked, disturbed, and even disgusted all the alleged activity, they feel that the arrested were just "bad apples" and don't reflect Station 8 or the Shreveport Fire Department.
