Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Shreveport police detectives secured an arrest warrant for Andrew Smith, 19, accused of fatally shooting a man near north Shreveport Tuesday night.
Just before 10:00 p.m., Shreveport police officers responded to the Cooper Road Plaza Apartments located in the 2900 block of Peach Street on reports of a man who had been shot numerous times.
Upon officers arrival, they located Prentiss Tyre Britton, 21, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The Shreveport Fire Department rushed Britton to LSUHSC where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene personnel arrived on scene at the crime launching an investigation into the shooting.
Authorities have since procured a warrant for the arrest of Smith charging him with a single count of second degree murder.
Smith's bond has been set at $500,000.
