Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a local man that is wanted in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a Shreveport man Thursday evening.
On May 18, 2013, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Frederick Gipson, 33, of Shreveport, charging him with a single count of second degree homicide. Gipson, after an investigation lead by Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives, was developed as a suspect in the May 16, 2013 shooting that killed Burford Johnson, 20.
Johnson was shot while walking in the 300 block of West 77th Street.
It was during the investigation that authorities were able to gather and secure evidence linking Gipson to the crime.
The warrant has a bond of $175,000.
