Armed robbers strike Shreveport dollar store

Police detectives are working to identify and apprehend a pair of suspects who robbed a west Shreveport dollar store this morning.

At approximately 8:06 a.m. on August 4, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General in the 4500 block of Mansfield Road. Upon arrival, patrolmen learned two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the business, confronted an employee there and demanded money. The robbers received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspects are described as black males, one approximately five feet nine to five feet ten inches tall, wearing a dark colored hoodie and dark pants and the other about five feet eight to five feet nine inches tall wearing a gray hoodie and light colored blue jean shorts.
