Apparent murder-suicide in Bossier City

Thursday, March 7, 2013 - 9:19am

A commercial section of Bossier City was rocked by an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday afternoon.

Bossier City Police and fire crews were called to the Texture and Tones Hair Studio and Boutique in the 1600 block of Airline Drive late Wednesday afternoon after receiving a call that shots had been fired at the business. When they arrived on the scene they found a man and woman inside the business dead from gunshot wounds.

An investigation by detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit determined the man identified as 43 year old Lavance Deshannon Williams, shot his estranged wife,  33 year old Lashontay Jimese Lewis, both of Minden, shortly after he arrived at the business which houses a tax service that Lewis operated. Evidence at the scene and information from witnesses led investigators to believe Williams shot Lewis during an argument and then shot himself.

Several others were inside the business at the time of the shooting including the couple’s 11-year old son, none of whom were injured.

This crime is still being investigated, and details are still emerging.
